Northern California - East Bay Mtn Ride Saturday?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm still new enough to the East Bay that I'm unfamiliar with any good mountain biking trails out here. Anyone going for a ride Saturday morning I could tag along with? I'd say I'm probably beginner/medium level rider. Last year I spent every weekend out on the peninsula pounding a double loop out of Purisima Creek OSP in the morning before the hikers dropped in.
Sorry, I'm only really familiar with road routes, there aren't too many local mtb'rs that I've met on the NorCal board, but I've heard that Briones park has some nice trails - and you get to ride some of the 3 bears to get there. :thumb:

I am a mountain and road biker, in that order. I will be out of town this weekend coaching my high school mountain bike team at the state championships at Boggs demonstration forest :thumb:

I will start to list mtb rides that I will be doing on the weekends. Training for Downieville race on July 11th so I will be working on climbing and technical decents.
Where are you located? Maybe I can recommend some rides for you.

I like Morgan Terrirory, but it is basically all fire roads. Just perfect for me. :)

There's a group that start at the Ranger Station in Lake Chabot every Saturday morning. You might want to go and check them out.

Briones has some excellent mountain biking trails.
I like to start at the Bear Creek Rd. entrance and go up Old Briones to the top. You then have multiple options. They have trail maps available at each entrance.
So does Mt. Diablo, you can ride to the top up the road and use the trails on the way down.
