Mountain Biking - Anyone ever used one of these? Or heard of, for that matter?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

They are well-regarded bikes. I've never personally ridden one, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. Their design does make you take a second look though.

That thing looks super sick!!!
It kind of makes sense the way the spring releases during the "dead zone" pedal rotation, but im not a physicist.

Been around for years. Looks like it would be flexy, but according to owners they aren't in the slightest. I almost pulled the trigger on a 29er SS but ended up with an IndyFab instead. Being a clyde, I needs me some stiff, steel tubes built just for me:D
Looks loco. Wonder if it really works?

Oh yeah...Slingshot has been around for many years. IIRC they made road frames years ago with this same design..I seem to remember seeing one on RAAM in '91 or '92.

I'd love to build one strictly for training rides on gravel roads. Similar to a softail design.
so what's the advantage?
does it work as a suspension or just to shave off weight?
please enlighten a n00b 'round here.... :D
ok, just read the 'tech' page (love those stuff)

It's been on the market for nearly 20 years (26" wheeled version), and has a very loyal following.
What is crazy about it or needs to be discussed?
