HI,
We have a like new Burley Rivazza for sale. The bike was bought in 2006 but has only 450 miles on it. It is Burley's orange color with Ultegra components in their "medium" size. It is quite adjustable and I'm certain it will fit most couples. We are road bikers that ride (or should say "rode") about 3000-5000 miles a year. With grandchildren, kids moving out of state, work and health issues, we just haven't had time to ride this bike. It is looking like biking may be becoming a past hobby for us.

The bike is aluminum, light and fast. It handles like a single. I had put on an Avid drum brake but found it to be just added weight. We live in Missouri and have plenty of hills, but the stock brakes seem just fine.

The bike is perfect and looks new. Colorado Tandems will sell you a new one for about $4000.00. We are asking $2500.00. This is a quality bike.

Thanks,

Bill

Dave,

I think I just got a phone message from you. The bike is on its way to NJ. I agreed with the buyer that if it wasn't as nice as I told him or if it didn't fit his daughter, I would take it back. So, basically I think its sold. By the end of next week I should know if its acceptable to him. If it isn't sold, I'll email you.

Regardless of where you post, be alert of scams. Last year we sold our Burley online (twice). Once in an attempt to rip me off, second time to a legitimate buyer. If you get any offers with a certified check with shipping cost included with you to forward funds to shipper, refuse the offer. My deal was that I would receive the funds overnight and I was to forward the funds to a shipper. Note, a certified check will clear the bank immediately; by clearing, it confirms the bank and the account number are lehttp://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/eek.gifgit. It does not guarantee that funds are available or exist. (My fake check was from a stolen account)

In my case I sold the bike for 1500, and recieved a check for $3800, I was to send $2300 to the bogus shipper. A week after I sent my check, the other check would have bounced. Fortunately, I caught on to the scam. The good news, I got the )@#)*323 to overnight me the check so it cost him the overnight shipping charges. I eventually sold the bike and all worked well. (we love our new DaVinci) Ask for Postal money orders, they are safe! If you want more information goggle Nigerian 419 scam)

One last note, if you do post on tandem classifieds, you will be given a confirmation number when you post. keep that number because that is the key to close your ad.

Best of Luck

Good luck
