Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This is a pretty ride through Solano, Napa and Yolo counties. The Davis Doublers are riding parts of it today, in fact.
Anyone from here riding it?
We rode the past two years, last year with some BF friends (shout-out to Scotty and Bigbossman), and this year we aren't. :(
However, our race team -- Team Precision -- is running the Lake Solano rest stop. Chris (cgallagh) and I will be working from 1-4. Look for a handsome guy with a cycling cap ;) and a redhead with a black arm brace and say hello.
Enjoy the ride!

I'll be riding with a couple friends. My centuries this hear have both had extreme conditions...Wine Country (55 miles, more than pleased with that) and now 100+ degrees heat for Monticello.
Crazy weather this year. I'll try to find you and Chris. Save me a coke:)

Damn - this one snuck up on me, and never got on my radar. I really enjoyed the ride last year, but I remember it being miserable-hot towards the end.
I ended up doing a 50 mile loop out by Pt Reyes Station and Tomales Bay. The Marshall Wall was something.

While we were at the stop 4 people SAG'd the last 12 miles. It was 102*. Some folks looked pretty rough and kept going. Lots of reports of cramping, too.
Tom, aka Goatbiker, made a brief appearance, since he was helping drive SAG, and we went back and forth for a few minutes trying to remember how we knew each other. He finally remembered -- then I remembered that he was over the night before Foxy's Fall Century with you other BFers (you know who you are ;)). That was funny.
Chickenmonkey and his friend Eli stopped in and we chatted a bit. Most riders were pretty happy with the ride, the heat was the biggest complaint.
Next year, Bossman, I'll post it up earlier and we can have a better BF representation.

I don't know if there would have been more BF representing, considering it was so hot! I can't believe I rode in that heat yesterday.

This getting old is just getting old!
I'm standing there face-to-face with a beautiful readhead, and I KNOW that I know her from someplace, but I just can't remember who or where. Finally we put it together.
Next week I'll probably be doing that to my wife.
"Let's see, what do you call that flower with the thorns on the stem?"
"A rose?"
"Yeah. Hey, Rose, do you remember..."

Actually, last year was just as hot, and I knew that going in. My strategy was to do the metric, and start early. IIRC, I was back at the car by 11-11:30 or so.

In addition, I think you both were on one of the Laid Back rides last summer, I think it was the first one, where we had good representation from the recumbents and trikes.

Yes, that, too.
I share w/G'biker the memory thing. I'd've stayed up all night wondering where the hail I met him. Thank goodness he figured it out!
