Not ours, I'm afraid

Good friends invited us for a meal a couple of weeks ago

We talked about enjoying cycling, and the 'soft group' that we host and enjoy, and from which a bunch of beginners have become pretty committed and pretty quick cyclists. They were interested.

So, this couple dropped in last night with two brand new Gary Fisher machines, and asked if they could leave them here before a first ride tomorrow evening. One bike's white, one's olive green, they're both very spiffy machines

I'm looking forward to their first trial ride tomorrow night, but the little devil voice in my right ear says, ever so quietly, 'hide 'em, deny all knowledge'

You wouldn't have any similar temptation, I'm certain???

Think I would take both out for a test ride- and possibly get some Old tyres to put on them- and fabricate some scratches.

Gaffer tape- or Duct tape is made of Cloth. If you peel of a couple of strands of the tape on the side- it is still tacky enough to stay on the frame and if you get the colour right- can look like some very realistic scratch marks.

Resist and you will feel so much better... hope you enjoyed the ride.

Yes and thanks for asking, and I'm sure that my tease about pretending to nick their bikes was not viewed as a serious intention

We had a great ride. About 90 minutes. Not a very serious one in terms of mileage, but serious in terms of getting 7 good cyclists to accompany and to go yip yip for first timers - no crashes, no saddle problems, and finishing in the spirit of the first timers saying 'that was great, can we do a bit more next time'

It's all good

Wow, British humor at it's best. That just sounds wrong Step.
