SO like an idoit I took off on a bike ride yesterday without a CO2 cartridge for my inflator. I figured I could make it through the ride without having a flat. I planned to do about fifty miles but misfigured the miles. At almost exactly fifty miles I had a flat 15 miles from home in a tiny little village called Crab Orchard. I walked through town and saw two business establishments, On the right a tiny shack that sold pizza, on the left a garage of some sort. Though I hated to do it I planned on using the phone and bum a ride home. The garage seemed more inviting. I lost my presta adaptor so I didn't really see any need to even ask if could use an air compresser, then I thought about the cap on my inflator. The nice woman showed me to the air compressor but the inflator cap wouldn't fit on it. She attached the air gun which had a rounded tip that fit pretty well into the inflator. I thought the idea was kind of silly t first because the tire didn't seem to be getting any pressure, there was nothing to seal the air in, but small amounts of air were going in, lthat setup was able to get about 90 lbs of pressure in the tire after several minutes.

Doesn't matter other than it worked. Better than calling for a ride. And you got some more miles in.
