I recently finished my fixie and found a saddle that looked really retro. I wanted to get some history on it and it seems to be nothing, anywhere. Maybe I don't know where to look but, maybe someone out there knows about this brand of saddle, a Mertens, out of West Germany and the models seems to be a Coureur. It is a very good saddle, no foam. Just a piece of leatherlike material over a frame with coiled springs instead of foam. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I have this saddle on my old Dawes bike which came from England and dates to the 1950-60s. It has proved to be very comfortable but i don't know anymore about the company. It has developed a split in the leather side but is still usable. It looks like the B17 made by Brooks saddles.
If you have any more info please post.
