Hey guys I just picked up a Univega Arrow pace and was wondering if someone can help me date it? the serial is M8A44698. Also if anybody can help me find reproduction decals im having a little trouble and don't want to repaint without decals thanks guys.

You can determine the date of any components you feel are original by visiting the Vintage Trek website. Click on Component Dates, and see how to look for the stamping codes on certain components like cranks, brakes, etc. This should help in determining the year of manufacture for your bicycle, keep in mind that sometimes a component made in one year may have been installed on a bike made the next year.

Just a guess but the 8 (second character) may indicate either '78 or '88 production. It should be easy to choose between those 2 years based on the components.

And jrrestore, BF member, can make reproductions if you can take pics and important measurements of the originals.
