I'm going to purchase my first road bike this week. I have a friend who is big into biking and I'm going to pick up his old Specialized 2004 Roubaix Pro for around $1k. Seems like a great bike and good deal to me, but I don't know much at all about biking.
I've been out for my first couple of rides (only around 20k each), and I really like it so far.
Now I need to invest in some decent shorts and other essential gear...any suggestions? My friend suggested Assos, so I might pick up one pair but I would like a few more that aren't quite so costly.
Looking forward to catching the cycling bug and becoming and addict myself.
