Hello to all,

I've recently (<100 miles) built a road bike using a full 30-speed 105 kit. Everything works perfectly, shifts nicely and runs like butter.

However, I find the CN-5600 chain to be quite loud. Even for a gear where the chainline is perfect, pedaling is noisier than coasting. (BTW the 105 hubs with CXP22 rims are a nice match).

My other road bike is a fixed gear and the cheap SRAM PC1 chain is quite silent, so maybe I don't have the right references. My MTB bike is also quite silent.

Oh, I'm using Finish Line Teflon-Plus Dry Lube. If I understood correctly, dry lubes are noisier than wet ones.

So, what's your opinion on this?
Thank you very much!

Is the chain routed properly through the rear derailleur?

Were the cassette and chainrings new as well? I think Shimano chains are a tad noisier than other brands, but not more than a Shimano freehub.
