My name is Jim Cortes from North Carolina and I have enjoyed road biking for about 20 years now. I began on Canondale Racers, progressing to high end Canondale Racers until finally buying a Trek Y Foil in the mid 1990's which I purchased to soften the ride after some injuries. I was deployed to the Middle East in 2006/2007 was injured again and found myself with only two exercise alternatives, swimming and biking so I have gotten into biking a little heavier than before. I rode the Y Foil until last year when I learned that someone wanted to buy it. I wanted a lighter frame anyway. I now ride a Fuji Team Carbon Bike which I really like. I head the MS Team FedEx Group in Greensboro/High Point, NC and we ride charity events throughout the state. I also ride with another club of racers in The Velo Project, a group of experienced riders whom I can learn a great deal from. I have spent time taking weight out of the Fuji, swaping wheels and cassettes, chains and now I have to focus on taking the rest of the weight out of the rider! Looking forward to learning from the experiences that this group will have to offer.
