Interesting. It looks like a 60's-70's Hercules with some Colt parts attached to it. Assuming that it came from the Raleigh factory that way, I've never seen one set up like that before.

It has Sturmy rims and heron stamp on hubs and bar clamp. Looking for sort of an appraisal; Thinking of upgradeing the deraileur and brakes (definately saddle); but don't want to mess with its value if its a rare kind of thing. Wonder what happened to all the five speeds........

That half chain guard really adds to the overall feminine appearance of the bike - sort of reminds me of a mini-skirt or something. The chain is partially exposed - ooh, it's naughty!
Very nice machine! You'd think somebody who appreciates fine workmanship would fork over $150 easily

Thanks for the reply bikemeister/good analogy on the chain guard...I flipped the bars (easy to reverse) and put on a new seat; now looks like a sporty gal. [Naughty and sporty:haha] She's out on cl now for 125-see what happens.

If you want a vintage bike that old in that condition and don't want to spend $50 on gas searching yard sales and thrift stores (and still not finding it), you're going to have to pay the person who has it. I think $150 for that bike is about right. Think of the time you saved and the gas money not to mention you found what you wanted.
