Touring - Good Resources for Costa Rica?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We'll be leaving Honduras in a week to head south. There is basically only one road through Nicaragua, so we don't to plan all that much for that country. However, there are lots of choices in Costa Rica! Does anybody know of any blogs or other sites where I can find good info about touring in Costa Rica? I could start randomly searching, but you guys tend to know all the good places to search! Thanks for your help!
This is the only site for Costa Rica I could find: http://www.ridetheroad.com/web/trip.aspx?tripID=86
It is Peter and Sally Bloomer's information page on Costa Rica.
Good luck,
Ray

There is basically only one road through Nicaragua, so we don't to plan all that much for that country.
Two highlights in Nicaragua:
- Going to the crater of the volcano at Masaya
- Granada (on the shores of Lake Nicaragua), and maybe a boat trip out to the islands on the lake.
It has been years since I've been in Managua but since the earthquake in 1972 it's been a mess and recent travelers don't have nice things to say about it.
Though this is a bit of generalization, my experience is that Nicaraguans are some of the very nicest people in the world...

Thanks everyone! I'll check out those links - and PM the people who live there. I appreciate your input!
Bengeboy - I remember the incredibly friendly people from when I passed through Nicaragua back in 1987!! I had intended to pass through as quickly as possible, but ended up meeting some wonderful people so stayed with them for a week or so! I'm looking forward to getting back there!

A good way to avoid that one road through Nicaragua is to take a boat across the lake, and a lot of the best things to see in Nicaragua are around the lake.
