A small group of pictures from before and during some of the US portions of the invasion of Normandy. I went down to New Orleans and visited the D-Day Museum - quite an experience. They have a Pacific wing, and one of the curators mentioned they had purchased another building for expansion, and plan on making a WWII museum out of the buildings.
I had 2 familiy members who fought through Normandy; one by air, one by sea. They have both since past away, but I always think of them on this day and the things that they sacrificed for our country. And this is also for all the other men and women, past and present, who have done and continue to do service in the US Military.
Thank you.

yep - the brits hailed the bicycle as useful in combat (and they did it single speed style too!)
