I bought that very item.

It isn't as accurate as a chest-based HRM. You have to really concentrate and experiment on how to place your finger on the unit. I also take 3 or 4 reading to verify a consistent result. I wanted to use this item in the morning to check my resting HR, but due to the issues stated above, it doesn't work well for me in that capacity.

Hmmm...that's stinks. That's the reason why I was going to purchase it, too.

Velo, I'm going to guess that hardly anybody here has used it so they (we) can't say anything about it. That might be a sign. Or it might not be.

I bought one a few yrs ago it sucks! very inaccurate.

Comes with a chest strap, lots of neato functions and is a lot more accurate.
