i believe it to be an 88 or 89. 7 speed 105 and the wheels are 105 hubs laced to matrix rims. newer tires and new bar tape. there are several scratches and chips in the paint but the frame is dent free.

I was going to say you're incorrect about the age, but I had one like that same color and decals, and my records say it was a 1988 or 89! I would think a seven speed rear is more toward the 89-90 vintage.
I don't know what the bike market is in Eagle Point, OR, but around here I would say your price estimate is right on. I'd start at the higher price and see what happens. IMHO once you go over $250, you're fighting with low end brifter bikes and you'll lose that battle most of the time.

Yes, very nice bike. I bought a very very similar 1990 Trek 1420 last year, same 7speed drive train with a mix of shimano 105 and deore dx.

I payed 210.00 for mine in NE Ohio, I feel I payed a fair market price. Mine also came with a reciept showing that it had just been tuned up at the local bike shop. I would guess you 250 would be fairly easy to get in a market like Oregon.

Dead on 200-250. Perfect frame to upgrade with STI's and will compare well with any of the modern Treks that start at 800-1000.

I can sell Shimano 105 bikes in the $250-300 range all day long.....if they're lugged steel. Bonded aluminum bikes dont have the collectibilty so I'll agree with everyone else. $250-ish.

+1 To what Jim said. $200 to $250. Buyers are really attracted to the lugged steel framed bikes, could get more for a steel Trek with these components. Still a nice value for the buyer, when you compare to new bike pricing.

Still a nice value for the buyer, when you compare to new bike pricing.

And there's the key to older road bikes from the mid 80's on with indexing and cassette hubs. They have tremendous value in comparison to what you get with a new $500 bike.
