General Cycling Discussion - WooHoo! Were in YAHOO!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Congratulations on that! You've built a wonderful site and I'm happy I was able to find it early on. I look forward to this place being put "on the map"!

DUDE.... this thread is from 1999.... are you kidding?????
How come a 10-year-old thread only has 4 posts? (now 5)
Not so many members back then?

Insert zombie image here:
Wonder if that's like Post #1 on BF :)
MichaelinIowa definitely wins the prize for digging up and posting to the most dead thread ever revived in BFs.

Hehe... Not quite, but I've wondered what the first post was, too.
The URL for the opening post is
http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=1445&postcount=1 -- so it looks like it's the 1,445th post. MichaelinIowa's zombie revival post is
http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=10025537&postcount=3which would be the 10,025,537th post.

Addendum to my previous post --
Entering a URL of
http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=1 came up with nothing. Using different numbers and "showthread" instead of "showpost" is also hit-or-miss.
So, what's the oldest post on BF?

Can't search bikeforums by date. I spent 15 minutes or so pokin' around and
found this one from Oct. '99:http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=552
Calling up old threads: here is a good one
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=550
Looks like #2 here?

Both these threads:
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=2
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=550
were started on Oct. 28, 1999 just a few minutes from each other.
And the thread we're in now:
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=543
I don't think I'll figure out how those numbers are assigned any time soon.
I thought bikeforums archaeology would be more fun...

I really liked Bikepacker67's comment in that thread.
Wow!
A first post, and your join date is nearly 9 years ago?
Seemed reasonable to me since the OPs post was nearly 9 years before, as well.
