Maybe I'm worrying about nothing, but I seem to be having trouble with the larger size tyres, 700C x 35 and 37. My bike came with Hutchinson Globetrotters and one particular tyre was deformed out of round. Originally I thought it was the wheel! Anyway, I tried deflating & refitting to no avail. My 'trusty' LBS said it's common and it shouldn't be a problem. In the end, the tyre wore unevenly and the kevlar poked through well before time (after 2,000km although I still used it on the front for another 1,000km) and it thumped along like I had square wheels! Now I've fitted new Schwalbe Marathons and guess what? It's happening again! When I lift the back wheel and turn the pedals, there is quite a significant eccentric force and the tyre even looks out of shape! I have never had this trouble with the 23s and 25s. I'm starting a 3000km tour in France later this week and I'm thinking this tyre won't last 1000km! Has anyone got any advice, similar stories?
Thanks in advance
