I want to add aerobars to my Santa Cruz Roadster for a more comfortable riding position during descent. I did a search and it looks as if the Syntace C2's are a good buy.

If I order the Syntace C2 Ultralite's (http://www.performancebike.com/shop/Profile.cfm?SKU=83) , would a large be ok for me? I'm 6'-6'1". It recommends 6' and over to order a large but I hear a lot of cyclists order a medium.

Are the C2's the best bang for a buck? I was also looking into the Easton EA70's (http://www.performancebike.com/shop/Profile.cfm?SKU=17947) to match up with the rest of my components (bars, seatpost).

Thanks!

You could always opt for the Deda Clip One (~400g) and benefit from the adjustable length.

I guess I am a large by the Syntace measurement chart so that answers the question.

If anyone wants to sell theirs, I'll buy 'em.

I would be leery of using aerobars for descents - what if you suddenly need the brakes at 35 mph and have to quickly move your hands from the aerobars to the brakes? Why can't you descend in the drops or on the hoods?

I'm not knocking aerobars - they're great for long stretches into the wind or a otherwise long and flat ride, but going downhill without easy emergency access to the brakes just seems a little risky.

I saw your blke on the other thread (sweet!) and it looks like you will be doing tris or tts. I'm 6'3" and I have the C2s in Large and they are pretty long for me. I have since put on a shorter stem. I'd try the Mediums. I add 2mph over the drops when I ride in them.

Thanks for the comp. I was trying out the position, that's all. The bars were loose in the pic, I didn;t adjust them. How long are your forearms though? Mine measure 15-16" & should be a large.

Yo have rems like mine. perhaps you would be well-suited to the large as well.

Geez. I can't type!

Arms = 15-1/2" elbow to knuckle.
