Whats up everyone.
I know my q is a little odd but do you think that i can use my giant faith 3 as a xc bike?? I realize that the weight might be an issue but besides that??? i have a longer stem that im thinking to put on it to center the weight more, and switch to xc tires. i just cracked my frame on my mk3 so now im left with the "faith"
Thanks in advance

its so incredibly overkill for XC riding, it has like 8 inches of travel. its going to be very heavy and inefficient on climbs. its got downhill geometry.
i suppose you can ride anything XC though. you'd be better off spending a few hundred bucks on a used hardtail in my opinion.
It will tire you out more; and, near the end of a long ride, you will feel like the bike does not coast. But, other than that, there are things to be said for slacker angles and some cush.
I have trail ridden (and even entered an XC race or two) on every 'big bike' I've owned, from a Yeti AS-X to a Transition Gran Mal to a Transition Blindside. My current trail bike is a Diamondback XTS-Moto. It's all do-able; it's just a matter of how much you are willing to suffer.
