Did the horse get some gallop points for that performance?

I was riding on the Little Miami Trail, a paved rail-to-trail, last year. There's a horse path in the grass to the side of the pavement. I passed a horse and rider that was doing about 8-10 mph, and the horse picked up speed to match my 18 mph pace. It was cool.

Did you notice, neither the horse in the video nor the horse in the pic were wearing helmets? :)

And their saddles were too low.

That reminds me of when I started riding a few years ago, a deer came up in front of me and I tried to stay up with it, It stayed right next to the mup for a while and then took off in another direction.

When the horse was in front, did that make it a draft horse?

Yes - and if you look closely they're both smiling.

I've encountered cows on Little M trail but not horses.

The video did remind me of one year at horsey 100 (georgetown/lexington, ky) when after leaving versailes I was riding on a narrow farm lane and 5 yearling colts decided it would be fun to race me.
it was a blast unlike the video they stayed on their side of the fence.

Wish I'd thought of it. :thumb:
