Pacific Northwest - Could be a hilly weekend in Seattle...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

"Torture (Metric) Century North" on Saturday, sponsored by Native Planet Outdoor Club:

(looks informal, more like a big group ride than an "event")
Plus, the 7 Hills of Kirkland is Monday.
I'm prepping for the Native Planet Classic, may do both...

I'll see you at the 7 Hills!
I'm getting my double dose of Novelty Hill that day by riding from my place on Redmond Ridge down to the start line, doing the century, then riding back home.

I'm in for the Metric Century version of The 7 Hills of Kirkland. So far, we have a group of 8 guys signed up...
Is it just me, or is the name "The 7 Hills of Kirkland" a complete misnomer. From what I remember from last year, there were WAY more that 7 hills and it seemed we spent very little time in Kirkland!
Hope to see some of you there!

I think there's 3 routes: A ~40 miler, which is the original 7 Hills; a metric, which has 11 hills; and the full century, which covers 14 hills.

Last year I rode from home and did the 40 mile route, then took the long way home. Ended up being a nice 70-mile ride. I enjoyed the combination of solo riding and supported riding in the same day.
I may do the same thing for the Flying Wheels Century - it's a 50-mile round trip from my house to the starting line, so if I ride to the start, do one of the short routes, and ride home, I've got a century in without having to get in my car. There is certainly nothing I haven't seen before on the route itself...

I'll ride to/from the FWSC since I only live 5 miles from Marymoor park

7 Hills are:
Market
Juanita
Seminary
Norway
132nd
Winery
Old redmond road
Market is really the only one that is fully in Kirkland.
I'll be doing the metric. I have livestrong coming up in a month or so.
