Oh wise ones....

I have a 2001 Quintana Roo 650c Tri bike with all Ultegra (6600?) components.

I'm looking to purchase a used Cervelo Soloist Team (aluminum) frame and would like to move the components from the Roo to the Soloist. I'd like to initial build the Soloist as a Tri bike, and as funds allow, get drop bars and brifters to use it as a road bike also. The Soloist will need 700c wheels.

Are there any issues I need to worry about? Should everything fit? Anything extra needed (other than the wheels)?

Is the QR 1" or 1 1/8" headset?

9 or 10 speed? If 9, make sure you don't buy a 10 speed only wheelset.

Seatpost sizes the same? Length needed the same or shorter?

Front derailleur clamp or braze-on? If clamp, you'll need to see if the sizes are the same.

- Headset has about a 1 1/4 outer diameter...so I assume it's 1 1/8. Does this matter if the new frame has a fork and headset already installed?
- The existing components are 9 speed. Isn't the cassette 9/10? Should it matter as long as the wheels are Shimano rear hubs since I plan on moving my 9 speed cassette to the new frame?
- Seatpost included in the new frame.
- FD is braze on.

-If the Cervelo already has the headset and fork installed, includes the seatpost and the fd is braze on, of course the interchangability with the QR is moot.

-Most Shimano hubs are 8/9/10-speed compatible but there are exceptions. The 7800 series Dura Ace hubs were 10-speed only as were 10-speed Dura Ace and Ultegra complete wheel sets. Dura Ace 7900 hubs and all Ultegra and 105 hubs take 8/9/10-speed cassettes.
