I listed my car on craigslist today.
We still have my wifes car but today I decided to sell my car and we will now be a 1 car household.

That's a great first step, gmule. Maybe someday your wife will consider ditching her car also.

Good for you! I'm still working on getting my wife to consider this.

That's great. I went from car free in college to car light in grad school, but even this is much nicer than being fully car dependent.

So gmule,
What kind of bike riding do you do? Do you use other transportation modes like walking, bus, taxi, yak cart or whatever? What's the best part of being carlite? The worst?

Sincerely,
Baba Wawa

I mostly bike or walk now. I started seriously commuting 2 years ago so my car has mostly sat for the last few years with little to no use. My wife is a stay at home mom so she rarley uses her car either but it is nice to shuttle the kidds around and I can usually use it if I needed.

Pros for car lite for me:

better health
stress managment
I get to experience the change of seasons
save some money

Cons:
My friends have started calling me hippie :roflmao2:
I need to plan a little better for longer trips or plan for running errands.
