I am struggling with adding some linear pull brakes to my bike. Actually, I am adding an Xtracycle to my canti-equipped bridgestone, but the xtra only accepts linear pull or disc brakes. I picked up a set of Avid Single Digit 7 brakes to mount to the Xtracycle. I am having a problem getting the pads parallel to the rim. I am not talking about the arms being parallel and fiddling with the washer configuration, but the pads are not parallel front to back -- one pad has and extreme toe in and the other has an extreme toe out. The wheel looks pretty plum and true, so I don’t think that is the problem. There doesn’t seem to be an adjustment for this kind of configuration. Any help is appreciated.

loosen the nut on the pads, hold the pads to the rim, tighten the nuts.

Not sure why I couldn't get it done correctly last night, but I took another crack at it over my lunch and now all is well. One thing I noticed is that the concave / convex washers have a rough texture to them which restricts movement a bit. I took them completely apart, reassembled and was able to move them more freely before tightening.
