What book would you recommend for bike maintenance and repairs? I have looked at the Bicycle Mag. book and it seems fair. I have also heard of the Zinn book, but it is not in stock at any of the stores in my area. I will order one or the other off of the internet, but wasn't sure of which one to go with. What are the advantages of each ( if you know), and which would you recommend? Thanks! ROn

I've been using the one published by Haynes. They're the same folks that sell all of the Auto repair manuals. I'm satified but, I don't claim it's the "best". I picked it up at an LBS.

There is no such thing as too much information when it comes to repairs. As mentioned the Haynes bicycle repair book is good, I have it. But the one source that I turn to frequently is the Park Tools repair help section on their web site: http://www.parktool.com/repair_help/FAQindex.shtml It's clear and concise and applies across the board to many brands of equipment. The photo illustrations are a great help too. Print out the pages and you will have a very good and free bicycle repair manual!
the park tool website is waesome.

Park tool site. Bike books seem to go out of date quickly. But then again the basics are the basics.
