Anyone going to Tulsa Tough? 3 crits in 3 days, looks like a lot of fun.
I'll be heading down with a couple teammates, looking to get the last of my upgrade points to the 1's and hopefully rake in a bunch of cash as well. Only $105 for three days of racing isn't too bad, and payouts 20 deep mean unless I crash on the first day I'll end up coming out at least even.
So, any of you planning on going?

sounds tempting, but the drive is a bit far

I'd like to. My team is going, but my job is getting in the way. I had a pretty good ride this past weekend so I haven't totally ruled it out. I need to make a decision and get the plane ticket soon though. I'm trying to figure out if I can swing it with work. There is a ton of money there.

Anyone besides Racer Ex and wfrogge?

I just did mine. Tempted on the Friday P/1 but...aw shoot, I'll do it. Past that I'm racing geezer.
Post script: Dang it, they are closed. I'll see if I can post for the P/1 race on Friday....

I'm coming, but not doing the crits, obviously. I'm attempting the free jersey for back to back sub 5hr centuries. Should be doable. Does anyone have a cue sheet for the course?

Think I'll be there. Wifey is 8 months pregnant and counting and we lost our cat on Monday, so it's more up in the air now. I'll be in the 4's this year. It's a lot of fun, especially SUnday. Hopefully no rain this year, though. Last year I watched someone's spare wheel float along the gutter in downtown Tulsa while Wifey warmed up for her race.

Me and a few of my Cycle City teammates will be there for just the 4's on saturday.

I emailed them and they re-opened pre reg. I'm in for the P/1 NRC race. It'll be a good warm up before the Master's races on Sat and Sun.

 have fun fellas
At least I get to do a real, live M35+ race tomorrow. RX: it's Jonathan, EDR, and I... maybe Mondo, JV... we should be able to put our stamp on it for another week.

(Tulsa, OK) – Floyd Landis, former Tour de France superstar and Lance Armstrong teammate, announced his participation today in the 4th annual Tulsa Tough, May 29-31, along with his teammates from the OUCH Maxxis Pro Cycling Team.
“It’s been our goal since day one to bring the best talent in the world to Tulsa, it’s exciting to see that vision becoming reality in just a matter of years,” said Malcolm McCollam, Tulsa Tough event director.
In addition to the Tulsa Tough races, Landis will be doing a free to the public presentation on his BHR hip resurfacing, which he received shortly after the 2006 Tour de France. The presentation will be at City Hall, One Technology Center, from noon-1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 28.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Landis. “I’ve never raced in Oklahoma, and I hear great things about this race.”
Landis will be signing autographs on Friday night in the Blue Dome district from 6-7 p.m.
“Cycling fans can come out and get Floyd’s autograph and then watch him race right here in Tulsa,” said McCollam. “That’s exciting.”
The 2009 edition of Tulsa Tough was added to the National Race Calendar, making it part of the professional circuit for cycling in the United States. With that designation organizers expect a huge increase in the caliber of racers coming and the impact of the event on the community.
“This year is by far the most exciting, we have international talent with multiple current and former national champions and Olympians from several countries,” said McCollam. “It’s a unique opportunity for Tulsans; cycling is an up-close sport and you can interact with these amazing athletes, then get your family together and participate in one of our many recreational events.”
Tulsa Tough offers events and spectating opportunities for everyone with professional-level races, recreational and tour rides, kids and youth activities, live music and vendors in one action-packed weekend.

I looked through the pro men's field and it's not going to be one team wiping the floor with everyone like Toyota did last year. It looks like a lot of the US teams are sending their fast crit teams, so it should be a lot of fun to watch.

So, I guess we will see you up here in the 1's then. Koppenberg rained out (too much mud on the dirt section). Oh wait, I think you said you were headed to different climes (pun intended) for the summer.

If I do well in Tulsa I'll be sooooo close to that upgrade :) Won't get it unless I win twice though.
Dead Dog is still in the plans I believe. Looking forward to it!

If Gila is an indicator, Floyd can't crit for s***. Bring out the gimp. Ex is on a roll from Monday

OK, I'll probably get slaughtered. But I'm shooting for at least one mention by the announcer, if for nothing than being the oldest mofo in the field.

Weekend fail.....
40th or thereabouts for crit #1, crashed out of crit #2 with 3 to go (but was sittnig pretty around 5th-10th spot and felt good), and was too damn sore on Sunday to race (got pulled early).
Fun event though... Ill be back.

Man, that race certainly lived up to its name. At 60 minutes, that was my longest crit ever. Was sitting at 20th coming into the final stretch saturday and sat up not wanting to cause a wreck with a needless sprint. Feeling a lot more confident in the 4's now.
Friday night was awesome. Those Jelly Belly guys did a textbook leadout that looked insanely fast. I thought for sure it would fail and Bahati would take it but they got the job done. Most impressive.
I'll be back next year. They know how to run a race.
