So I bought a new Smart Superflash because I had one previously (fell off seat bag tag) and it was good. My previous one flashed or strobed like the Planet Bike Superflash, the new one just blinks. A bit dissapointed about that, I'll have to look around for a PB SF.

I think I bought that also from PBK. I shipped it back ASAP

Not worth the hassle and expense to send it back, it does work, just doesn't flash. I'll keep it for a spare and probably buy one from LBS (about the same price anyway, I was just padding out a PBK order I was doing).

I bought two so I shipped them back.

I did buy the Planet Bike ones on Amazon for $16.25 and free ship over $25.00, so I bought two.
They are NOT on sale today, but that changes every few days

I found out tonight that those Planet Superflashs which is the same as another brand are made cheap. Mine failed to flash tonight; thought it was the batteries, replaced them and nothing, cleaned and checked the contacts all good, smacked it around while it was supposely on and nothing. I've only had it for 7 months. Fortunately I had 2 Cateye LD600's on the stays along with the barend lights so no big deal, but one of those Cateyes is about 8 years old and the other is 5...I'm going back to Cateye and try the new TL-LD610. I don't like the TLLD1100, too clunky looking.

I bought another Smart SF from LBS, cost about $5 more than one from PBK. Identical looking light in identical packaging but it flashes. They actually seem to be getting harder to find, I had to go to a couple of bike shops before I found one. I did put the original one and the new one side by side and turned them both on and they both appear to be as bright as each other. The newer one might be appear to be brighter because of the way it flashes eg the lower power LEDs light up first and then the brighter one whereas the other one all the LEDs come on at once and then turn off at once. I've go three bikes so I don't mind having two lights, saves swapping lights all the time when I decide to ride a different one.
