Folding Bikes - Keeping your downtube closed

Yet another downtuby question for you all...has anyone come up with a clever way of keeping the downtube closed beside bungees? I read a few posts about velcro, but wasn't sure it worked. Has anyone tried retrofitting some magnets (i.e. like the dahon system) or anything of the like?

I've been using two strips of Velcro one-wrap for the past 2 years. Not very clever, but it works. One for the front fork to the rear triangle, the other for the handlebars (taken off the stem) to the rack. I also wrap my velcro ankle-straps around the stem to keep it from flopping around. The main disadvantage is that I often get my knuckles dirty putting on / taking off the one on the rear triangle.

My Citizen Tokyo came with a velcro strap that works great. Took me a few tries to find the perfect places to wrap it closed, but now it's second nature.

I bought an adjustable nylon strap at Wallmart camping section ( $ 1.88 ) its 6ft long with plastic clips on the ends. Cut it to size and run it through the wheels on our mini's. I make sure not to tighten it to tight. Works great, snap it around the stem when not using it.

I use an old helmet strap.
