Road Cycling - ANyone have any good recommendations about books that deal with life in the Peloton.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have Lance Armstrong's first audio-biography..Great book, but This deals with more of his life than just his life since winning the First Tour De France.
ANyone suggest any good reads, not just about the totality of some famous cyclists' life story; but instead focus on the daily ins and outs of riding in the big European bike races. Sort of current with the advent of bike renovations, race customs, rules, etc.

-Got a few:
"The Rider" by Tim Krabbe; excellent book, short, a must read. It takes place entirely during a single day race from first person racer perspective.
"Tour de France: The History, The Legend, The Riders" by Graeme Fife: heavy on race history from the beginning, stories, anecdotes and lots of peleton etiquette that may be new to American cycling fans. (Armstrong had lots to learn!) Interspersed throughout is the author actually riding the famous climbs like Alp d'Huez, the Galibier, Ventoux and others. This first person, modern point of view on the big climbs is one of the book's best features. Contains some historic photos and the edition I have is updated through the 2002 Tour.
"The Yellow Jersey" by Ralph Hurne. I haven't read this one yet. It's a novel based in the Tour and got good reviews both from the non-sporting press and Bicycling Magazine, so we'll see.

"A Rough Ride" by Paul Kimmage.
Great insite into the grind of pro life.
I think Lance's second book deals more with riding than the first one did.
Has anyone read the latest Bob Roll Tour de France Companion? I can't seem to find a good description of the book. Is it very basic in it's information? I've been watching the Tour for years, so if it's only going to tell me basic history and what the different colored leader's jerseys mean, then I don't want to waste money on it...
Thanks.

Gruven...Yes...I was at Borders ordering some of the books recommended above...The Roll book was there..I was impressed and picked up a copy..After seeing two tours in person, had to have it...Have had it less than 24 hours, so not too far into it.
Borders has it..Might give it a look over...Seems pretty detailed to me.. Best description is to repeat its prologue.
"From the yellow jersey tothe broom wagon, the role of the peloton, and the most important behind the scenes aspect: food. Its all here---strategy, history, climbing grades, tradition, time line, plus the 2004 Tour De France crib sheet."
I also ordered most of the books recommended above..
