I am interested in riding off-road, but not too rough of a terrain (no cliff jumping stuff), but want a good, reliable, moderately light-weight hardtail with a decent shock. I am a middle-aged woman standing 5'4" tall and this bike feels like a "good fit" in a size 16, as tested at the shop.

Normally I ride a road bike and a hybrid, so my experience with mountain bikes is limited. Would like your opinions as to whether this bike is a good choice for my money. Thanks!

The Trek is a good bike. My recommendation is to ride as many different bikes as possible. WSD and non-WSD.

The concept of the WSD is for women with longer legs, shorter torsoes, narrower shoulders and smaller hands.

I know many women who prefer non-WSD bikes. Test ride both models to be sure.
