The Ride of Silence (www.rideofsilence.org) is on May 20.
I missed last year, and I'm not missing this year.

We all know someone who's been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. This ride is for:

* Mourning those cyclists killed or injured.
* Telling the world cyclists are not going to be chased or intimidated off the streets we legally share
* Making motorists aware of the life long legal, as well as life changing, problems that can ensue from killing a cyclist

I'll be riding from Antioch City Hall at 7PM with my wife Tricia, a few friends, some Delta Pedalers and whoever else shows up
It would be swell if some NorCal folks joined us for this silent, 12mph max, 8 mile or so ride.

If Antioch is too far away, check rideofsilence.org for a ride nearer you.

I think I'll head up to SF for that ride.

I need swing by a bike shop to get a couple of new water bottles after I tossed mine at the Modesto Road Race and the neutral feed zone replacements are gnarly.

Hrmmm... I won't be riding any official routes.. But I ride every day to and from work from Hayward to Oakland. It's a pretty quiet ride (no hills to curse at) and I like the fact that I'm doing my part to increase awareness for cyclists. So even though I won't be there, I'll "be there". Yeah?

Swung by the east coast for a day and a half, wasn't enough time to bring the bike. :(

You'd think more people would wear helmets when riding to remember bikers injured and killed on the roadways :|

I'm with you. I never ride without a helmet. I'd have been a lot more comfortable if these guys wore them, but they don't.

I told them that even though this was a helmet ride, I wouldn't give them too much grief if they'd at least take out their headphones....
