I'm interested in doing a three to four week tour though the Rockies on a full suspension bike. Haven't bought a bike yet, but I'm hoping to get one that would be compatible with a BOB ibex trailer. Does anyone here have this kind of set-up?
I'm sort of considering the Gary Fisher HiFi deluxe 29er. I'll probably be spending some time on pavement getting from place to place, then unhooking the trailer and going for some trail rides. For lengthy stints on pavement, I could switch to smoother tires which I can easily carry on the trailer, I suppose.
I think some bikes like the Trek Fuels have rear dropout spacing that is too wide for the BOB trailers. I could also consider another brand of trailer other than the BOB. Any sort of advice regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.
