Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - '83 Ross Eurotour pricing?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm going to sell a 1983 ross eurotour (possibly could be an 82, will check for sure later) for my parents.
The bike was hardly ridden and is in pretty decent condition. there's a small amount of rust on the wheels but hardly noticeable and could be cleaned up.
I was curious as to how much this could sell for. any help would be great.
I'm planing to possibly sell the bike on craigslist.
thanks! and i'm new to the forums.
Rust on wheels means steel wheels? A steel wheel Ross is going to have very little value. Ross made many low end bikes, and a few pretty nice bikes. Suggest you post pics and put in the valuation subforum.
here are some pics.
it seems to be in ok condition.
and sorry for the cruddy cell phone pics
and if a mod could move this it would be great. sorry.

I have a bike that looks almost like this one. Does anyone know what year this was made?

Thank you in advance!

Seriously, how can you take 25 pictures, and not a single one of the entire bike? I don't get it.:twitchy:

Couldn't pull up the pix, but...
This website is good for doing price comparisons by make, model and market:
http://bike.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/bike.cgi?cat=bik&itm=ross&fil=eurotour&state=&ps=&pe=&ys=&ye=&submit=+GO+
For some reason people seem to ask more on CL for Ross bikes than they are worth, given build quality and components.
Other things to consider beyond rust would include wheel alignment, and whether everything is properly adjusted. Also, are the tires and tubes old and dried out? Reasonably priced used bikes in good condition seems a little hard to come by right now (not including the ones you stumble on at rummage sales, garage sales, etc.), and don't go unsold for too long.

The problem with using this tool for pricing is that you do not know what a bike actually sells for (if it sells) since all you get is active CL listing prices.

I believer this bike is from the early '80s. cool forward freewheeling system.

@ big_heineken: lol... I took more than 25 pictures, actually. I only included the better ones. I will take pictures of the whole bike and upload it as soon as I can.
@ cycleheimer: Thanks for your input. I am more interested in finding out what year this bike was made than in how much money it is worth. Any ideas? Also, thanks to that link.
@ Bianchigirll: Thank you. Do you know how I could narrow it down, or finding the exact year? Also, is it American made for sure?
Thanks again all.
