In a 4/5 combined race, how are points divvied up (assuming points are up for grabs)? Are points given to only the top 10 riders who are fours? Or are points simply given to the finishing top ten and those who are fives have no use for them?
For example, a 5 takes the first and a 4 comes in second. Is the 4 given maximum points because he was the first 4 to finish?

hope that made sense:bang:

thanks for the help

In Florida, which may or may not be like the rest of the country, they usually combine every one so the first person across the line gets the most points regardless of category.

Where are you located... depends on your State's association.. In VA points are for races desingated as BAR race. CAT 5 rider only get points in AGE graded events (primarily TTs). We don't combine the CAT 5s with any other field. CAT 5 don't get points only mass start credits toward upgrades.

In combined races like 3/4, you get money based on where you are in your category. Upgrade points are combined, so if you finish 1st as a 4 but 10th in the race you get 0 points.

For example, a 5 takes the first and a 4 comes in second. Is the 4 given maximum points because he was the first 4 to finish? no, it's one race that allows more that one category just like pro1/2. the top placing cat1 or 2 doesn't get anything special for being first in their cat, just their place in the overall race.

Unless the race flyer states "scoring separately"

Which I've never seen for a 1/2 race but sometimes for a 4/5 race, and frequently for women's races.
