I won a mid-90's Bianchi Veloce on the 'bay, two evenings ago, and I haven't heard boo from the seller, even though I've emailed her twice. I even gave my phone #. I want to drive down to Joliet IL and pick the bike up (and pay her the winning auction price in cash).

How long is reasonable for waiting to hear from a seller? She has a few hundred good ratings, so I would be surprised if she wants to back out on the auction.

you could always request the seller's info from ebay and give her a call.

She's probably out of town. I would begin to sweat if you don't get a reply by the weekend.

Some people are funny. I e mailed a seller and asked if local p/u was ok. He said yes. I won the frame and wanted to pay just the auction price and come pick it up. After several attempts I heard nothing. I paid the price plus shipping and it showed up a week later, from 50 miles away. No mention of it being shipped or tracking number.

I always want it fast but I forget that to some ebay sellers the frame I want yesterday could just be another widget they sold and it will get sent when it's turn is up in their order of shipping.

I guess some ebay sellers aren't cycling freaks. Go figure.

Some people have no sense of how to conduct business in a timely and ethical fashion. But anyone can post in eBay. Including the ethically-challenged. The good thing is no money has changed hands - yet. And eBay cover's the buyer's backside pretty well.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to drive to Joliet. ;)

As for the auction, I'd wait a week.

Including the ethically-challenged

It has nothing to do with being 'ethicly challenged. It has to do with perception of time.

If it's only been 2 nights I'd give it a bit more time. I usually end up sending emails every other day requesting status if the seller has responded in after a few days.

Not necessarily. I bought a lot (collection) of items about a year ago where specific higher value items were listed in the auction. Due to the seller's poor listing, it went cheap. I received a box full of crap, complained to the seller that he did not ship what he listed in the auction. He later shipped another box of slightly higher value stuff overnight to me, at the cost of about $50, but it still did not include what he listed. I then notified paypal/ebay that the listed items were not included, and paypal backed the seller.

on the opposite side I just bought a nice little fillet brazed stem for a very good price (not great photo's and no name on the stem) but its a very nice one.. maybe a track stem but not much of a drop. It arrived here before I had even gotten ready to think about it coming! I just went downstairs and Surprise!

Hate to say it, but it's a holiday weekend coming up. Outside chance you might not hear back until Tuesday.
