My '76 Grand Prix has a 27" x 1-1/4" Panasonic gumwall tire up front. I need to replace the rear tire and would like to find another Panasonic. Does anyone know if these are still available? I can not find a source for them.

Panasonic? Or Panaracer?
Panaracer Pasela's are supposedly really good tires and aren't too terribly expensive (~$25).
They're also gumwalls.
Panasonic tires, if that's what they were, were likely an OEM thing you will never find again.

panasonic makes panaracer. i just got a set of the paselas for a townie project, very nice tire...i would recommend

No, you can get 700c in something close to a gumwall from Panaracer. Cheng Shin is probably the closest in that size in a gumwall.

Yup, says so on the label. I didn't realize it myself until I bought some.

The Panaracer Paselas (and Pasela TGs) are available in 27 x 1 1/4, 27 x 1 1/8, and 27 x 1.

I checked the Panaracer site, they didn't list Paselas, but I see they are readily available in a 27X 1-1/4 for about $20/pc

My son has a set of those Panasonic tires on his Panasonic bike. Nice tires.

That's the exact tire on my Grand Prix and I agree with you; nice tires! I don't imagine your son would want to part with those?
