Northern California - Anyone riding Memorial Day - the 25th?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Do any of you usual suspects have riding plans for Memorial Day? I'd like to get in a 60 to 80 mile ride or thereabouts.

If nothing is planned, I would propose (in honor of another post) up Kings Mtn, down 84, and up OLH. Then maybe out to Pescadero and back up Tunitas or Alpine.

Keep me posted if anyone is interested or if another group ride is planned.

I might be down to ride on Monday. I'll post up if so.

I'll most likely be free to ride that day as well. :)

Cool. An early tentative plan will be to meet behind the Pioneer Hotel (Whiskey Hill Rd and 84) in Woodside at 9:30 am. Details and possible modifications to come.

I may do part of this. Don't think I can afford the time to go out to the coast though. We'll see.

I'm currently scheduled to meet a friend to introduce him to Montebello. If we get done early enough, I certainly will try to high tail over to meet you guys.

Due to my time issues, I would like to subscribe to this newsletter as well.

Well not a large response but we may have a few people interested. So Michael, Marco are we still on? The plan stands: Pioneer Hotel at 9:30.

Very cold today out there. And watch out for Team Milosh, dangerous folk.

I just woke up. I think two days of hard riding is catching up. I'll have to meet you guys along the way, maybe at OLH after you climb Kings and descend 84.

I BF-sighted Ramon and NYChris at the Four Corners. They caught me eatting a pork sandwich from that little convenience store.

BTW, isn't there a BF sighting thread somewhere?

We headed out on the tandem at like 3:45, got a nice ride in.

I decided to push the pace pretty hard, since the ride wouldn't be too long.

We rode from San Mateo
- Crystal Springs/35
- Canada SB
- Summit Springs, always a blast ;)
- Kings Mtn
- 35 NB
- 92 EB
- 35/Crystal Springs

Stats:
38 miles
3972 feet
2:28 ride time!
avg spd = 15.3 mph
max = 47.3 (on Skyline NB)
avg HR = 164
max = 190 (that last switchback on summit springs... ouch).

Sorry I missed you guys!

Too bad you couldn't make it. I met Ramon at OLH and we had a good ride. It was cloudy and cool on the other side of Skyline. I did Oak Knoll, Hillcrest, Kings Mtn, OLH, 84, Pescadero Creek Rd, Stage Rd, Tunitas Creek. I ended at 80 miles and a lot of vertical, not sure exactly how much but must have been around 8000. Riding time was 5:30 for a 14.3 avg. All those hills...
