Great Lakes - Duluth Classic Stage Race

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just thought I'd toss this out there since there are a few riders from these parts pre-registered for this one.
Should be a wild time, what with the forest fires up there and all. :)

Check out the profile on Stage 3... That should be a good tune up for the WI state RR, LOL!
You guys have a great weekend. Looking forward to the re-caps from the racing when I get back.
Looks like a fair number of Canadians coming down too. Wonder if they've taken vacation days on Monday or will be playing hookey from work?
i would have liked to do that. but i'm still in madison, my legs are tired, and i'm poor... plus driving sucks.
it would be nice to know how i compare to my peers by the 3rd or 4th day of racing, as i feel i do better as the racing gets longer.

The drive isn't that bad ... esp. from Madison.
There's still SW and ToAD which are like stage races.
Super Week = Stupor Week !
At the end of 17 days, you don't even want to look at a bike. Your car smells like a sewer and your clothes appear 10 years old (complete with holes). You've got scabs on top of scars ... but can you ride fast? Oh yeah! :roflmao2:
Another great stage in the Giro today.

Fantastic weekend. Finished 29th on GC in 4/5 (of about 70), and I'm happy with that. Got shelled in the crit and finished down 2 laps (.6 mile course), but did OK otherwise. I'm pretty happy being mid-field (it's where I am a lot of the time).

Sweet video ... your best yet! Some very innovative stuff in there. Did you shoot all that?

John:
Thanks!
Yeah I shot all of it using $200 Kodak camera (stills) that works pretty well and a Sony Handycam for the vid. Some of the action shots can be a little soft on focus with the Kodak, but not too bad. Still learning (by trial and error) that pointing the GoPro into the sun for stills doesn't work well. LOL

Where can I find some other images from the Duluth Classic 2009? They seem pretty few & far between. I'm looking for anything in the Cat 3/4 races. Thanks!
