I apologize in advance if this thread is in the wrong place. Im looking to identify this new bike that my gf found, that she is probably going to clean up and ride. Im not under the mistaken impression that its worth anything other than as a ride. ("Made in Taiwan") Im just curious about the year, etc and i dont know where to start to find out myself.

Looks like a mid 80's World Sport.

You may be able to find out the year of the bike by visiting the Vintage Trek website. Click on Component Dates and start your investigation.
