Classic & Vintage - First road bike: 1989 Fuji Club. Thoughts?

I'm a college student looking to purchase my first road bike. It will mostly be used to get around campus, but I like the opportunity to get my adrenaline fix when I need it =P So far, I'm liking the looks (in every sense) of this bike: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=320372849583

I'll be able to pick it up locally, so the shipping charge is moot.

What do you guys think? I'll also be purchasing the required tools to maintain the bike, and I'll try to avoid bringing it to the LBS unless absolutely necessary (aside from an initial checkup, perhaps). If you guys have any other suggestions, please keep it in the $300 MAX range.

That Fuji is a nice bike at a decent price.
I'm not crazy about the bar tape or tire colours, and that computer and Biopace rings would be given the boot too, but the rest is solid.

That is a good choice at a fair price. It will do all that you want. Biopace, btw, is just fine, as are the rest of the accessories.

So I know Biopace chainrings are more ovular than standard ones, and I know it won't make much of a difference performance wise, but this doesn't cause any incompatibility issues does it? If I were to replace the chainring, I could use any old chainring, correct?
