I've got a relatively simple commute, factoria area to downtown seattle. I am mapping out a trip home to Bellevue without crossing the lake for the first time. I plan on heading over to the locks and then hook up to the BG and then up and around. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

The route for the fall Cascade ride shoes the basic route from downtown to Magnolia. You can see that it takes you right to the locks.

One change I would make...when you leave downtown and get past Elliott Bay Park there is a bike path that takes you through the railroad yards...that's the path I would take to get up to Magnolia.

Somehow has shown iits rough location here on Bikely...

I would avoid the locks and just go up Eastlake to catch the B-G trail at the UW.

I just hate walking through the locks, even if it is scenic.

Good luck!

Thanks. Is there a good connection from the locks to the BGT? Just the street I guess. I need to fine tune my route from marymoor to the Kelsey Creek area. I took the 520 trail to 130th over to 132nd and through the neighborhood there. Well, it was a fun ride. First time on the SRT.

There is only street to get from the Locks to the BG.
