My father and I want to do a few time trials this year on a tandem.
He lives in Texas and I live in Massachusetts, so buying a high end tandem just doesn't make sense for the amount we'll use it.
I do have a Burley Bossa Nova which I ride with my wife and occasionally with my dad. And in a pinch I could put racing wheels on this, but we'd still be push about 37 lbs of bike which is I think 10 lbs more than a good racing bike and quite a bit to accelerate. For some of the time trials this will be fine, but we want to hit the Masters Championships in Louisville this summer and go FAST.
So I'd much rather find a quality tandem. Is there anyone out there that:
a)Knows of a shop that would rent one out?
or
b)Would let us borrow their super fast bike?
Like I said, I'm in Massachusetts, my dad is in Texas, the race is in Kentucky/Indiana. So we're willing to pick up in those regions (or maybe areas between).
I'd really appreciate anyone that can help make this father son moment happen.
