Been setting up my shop at home.

My brother told me about the idea of a "spinner rack" and mentioned that it might be a handy shop accessory.

I'm not done yet, but ... here's where it's at so far.

It...

is mounted on a Harbor Freight furniture dolly
Will have two double-sided doors
uses 5' tall 2x4s

I've got maybe six hours into it so far, from...

sheet stock (two sheets of 4x8' pegboard, one sheet of 7/16" OSB)
2x4's (2 @ 10'/ea)
Furring strips (3 @ 8'/ea)
Miscellaneous hardware

Bought an assortment of pegboard hooks.

Once I get it finished, I'll post the final picture.

The idea: tools on the outside; books, larger tools, sprays/chemicals on the inside.

To "noglider" -- if you're out there: This is the second thing I've EVER built out of wood. The workbench was the first ... and my (woodworker) brother helped with that.

I'm tellin' ya ... if I can do it ...

Very slick!

I'm always having to step over to my wall-mounted peg board for tools when I have a bike in the stand... Then I set the tool down on the garage floor after using it because it's a hassle to put it back right away... Next I kick the tool under the workbench by accident... And so on....

Your brother is a genius - or at least a lot smarter than I am!

Nice, Neil.

I'm really enjoying seeing all this you-build-it shop furniture.

All done.

Thanks for the kudos, and ... dwr ... I think you're exactly right. Five minutes working on my bike and I realized what a cool idea he DID come up with ... for all the reasons you pointed out.

Got some empty pegboard, though. Time to shop tools :)
