which would be a better purchase. a cannondale rush 5 from 2007 or a cannondale rush 7 from 2009 both are about the same price, its a 40 dollar difference. just curious about what you guys think.

I gotta agree. I HATE the lefty forks. Good thing the '09 rush 7 doesn't come with it. Even if I liked the 5, I'd still go with the new 7. Btw I'm on an 08 carbon rush 3z.

I think a rush is going to be my next bike.. Only thing that bothers me is it's geared toward XC and may have a lower BB than my current bike. I suck at bunny hops, on my fuel I can just roll the obstacles that have ring marks on them from lower machines.. So pusher do you find yourself looking for more ground clearance out of your rush???

kinda nice to have a warranty, and yeah i think the 05 will be a lefty, my friend has a lefty on his rize and loves it, but i prefer the fox on my rush, also the lefty is a pain ot get the wheel off compared to a qr. I'll be movin to a 20mm TA shortly which will be annoying on my roof, but wtill not as bad as a lefty cause at least on most TA you don't need tools. Actually you can change a tire w/o removing the wheel on a lefty, so its really just annoying if you have a fork mount roof rack

as for clearance, the issue isn't the rings so much, u'll smash any bike's rings eventually, solution: bash gaurd, more clearance and i don't have to worry when i do hit, I upped ot a 36t ring also to avoid sacraficing speed. The real issue with a low BB is smackin cranks on stuff, thats when i find myself wantin more clearance, when i'm trying ot clip in in a rock gardin, or when i wanna pedal through bumpy stuff.

I would compare the components, suspension components and condition. I personally found the Lefty to be the best fork I ever rode. I love it. Check the shifting components, look at the overall and see how much wear and tear the bike seems to have. Mountain bikes take a great bit of abuse, if you ride them right. Also I would look at the wheelset. That's the best upgrade I ever put on my mountain bike.

looking at the rush specs the BB height is 12.5.. the rize is 13.. so it has like a 1 cm bb drop.. I really wonder if that makes such a huge difference in pedal clearance. thanks for your input tigers
