Hi,

Just got my hands on a Pinarello frame but I cant really make sense of it.

The decals say its a Treviso (top tube) but it got internal wiring which only the montello had?

Could it be a pinarello custom frame?

was hoping if someone new if treviso was ever made with internal wiring, otherwise it has to be a custom

I am no expert but I do not think Pinarello did custom frames. at least other than paint options on occasion I never heard the Girodona sales rep mention it. perhaps it is just a production change or they need a frame to fill an order and used the Montello. I once some some sponsorship 'team' Geurottis that were actuall Battaligins and even a Tomasino.

The Montello said "Treviso" on the seat tube, vertically, and generally "Montello" on the top tube, especially in the later steel models, and had internal routing. SLX tubing? I've not seen a Treviso with internal routing, and a lot of their frames said "Treviso" in different locations on the frame. There are some Pinarello guys on Velospace, and some here. One of them will know a lot more than I do about this stuff.

Treviso is the city where Pinarello is located, so all models read Pinarello Treviso Italia. But there was also a Treviso model, which can be confusing.

Treviso had a bridge between the chainstays; Montello did not. How much chrome does your bike have? What is the paint scheme? Have you seen the catalog scans on Bulgier.net?

What you got?

It is possible someone had the cable guide braze-ons removed and added the internal routing to a Treviso. Is the paint job original?

Here is a picture or two of my Pinarello "Trevisio". No brace between the stays and internal brake cable routing. Hope this is a help. The tube set is Columbus SL. Hope this is a help and my Trevisio was stock.

Pinarello currently sells a hybrid called the Treviso.

Same cromed parts, two sets of waterbottle holders and internal wiring.

When did you buy your bike? I assumed mine was a 80 something judging by the state of the fininsh and decals, but could it be a 90s version Treviso?
