Recently decided on the Specialized Rockhopper and my LBS has the 2006 on closeout for $350. Are there major differences between the 2006 and 2009 model that I should pass on this deal? Any changes in the frame itself?

just thought I recognized the name is all.. I know nothing about bikes. I'm actually going to look at a rockhopper today, seller isn't sure of the year though =/ guess we'll see..

Frames are different. The 2009 model is made from a lighter-weight alloy. The geometry is slightly different too. For example, the top-tube length of the 2009 model is longer than that of the 2006 model.

My 2006 RH was perfect...until some dickweed stole it...cable locked too. If I ever find a 06 in red and 21", I buying it just because I had it dialed in. The 2006 geometry was perfect for me.
