Texas - Anyone is a member of Circle C Ranch Cycling Club?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I would like to find out more about the club and where they would ride on wkend?
Unfortunately, their website is down or not in service.

Wonder if there are any BFer's know about this club or contact personel?
Thanks.

I'm on the mailing list, live in the area, but I'm not a member.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CCRCC is the mailing list, and it's probably the closest thing they've got to a web site.

Sorry you couldn't connect, Warrior. The regular CCRCC Sunday ride leaves at 8:15 a.m. from the Starbucks on Escarpment, just north of Slaughter. The Yahoo group is the best way to find out what's going on with the club.

Ummm.
That's interesting. I was there on Sat. too at about 8:08am and there were no riders to be found. I didn't get to ride on Sun. but I did walk with my wife out on La Crosse Ave and headed toward Veloway.

I guess they dont head out that direction...Overall, I would like to say Thank You to all the Texan's BFers and their hospitality. My family have a great time this past week. I'm definately looking forward to return for more riding.:)

Btw, Rainycamp are you part of the CCRCC? If so, where do you guys ride on Sat and/or Sun?

Best Regards,
Gary

I am a member. The main ride is the Sunday morning ride -- almost always people for that one. Saturday is iffier. Saturday is the "fast" ride, so I've never been on it. Occasionally, some of us will get a "B" ride together on Sunday, and we may ride a shorter version of the main ride, or go off on our own.

The rides generally go north from Starbucks, and can head out all the way to Rt. 620 in Lakeway (the Dam Loop), or do some hill rides through Westlake Hills. Other rides will go east on Davis Lane and eventually pick up Old San Antonio Rd. to head south to Kyle, Buda, or San Marcos. Or continue east of I-35 on a number of variations.

@Warrior, I never saw this thread till now; maybe one more post will help someone else. The CCRCC cycling group is fairly active; although the rides can be spontaneous (length, duration, intensity), I'm surprised nobody was there the at 8:08 on that day. I'd recommend signing up for the Yahoo group and reading the message board the few days before, you can always cancel your signup after that if you want.
@Tex Arcana - point take :) but you have to understand, Circle C is a huge residential community with limited commercial developments, the Starbucks is central and well known and less busy than the HEB across the street. The half dozen rides I've had with them, I eschewed the coffee myself.
