how do I go about doing this? these are not regular stickers, they are way harder to take off. its almost like they are painted on. i dont wanna use sandpaper because that will take the color right off. any suggestions?
Acetone removes stickers very well.

WD-40....more than for 'lubing' chains.
Some are painted on. Some are clearcoated over. I've tried it before. Perhaps you should embark on a different project?
A heat gun works well for removing stickers. However, if the sticker is below the clearcoat finish, you'd basically have to remove the clearcoat (paint) to get to the sticker. Once removed, you'd have a big ugly spot.

I hope your not trying to remove any "PX-10" or "Reynolds 531" stickers.
Some stickers are transfers which are applied before the final coat of lacquer. They won't come off without damaging the finish.

I used a Calphalon spatula and some Goo-Gone to remove the decals from my Haro cyclocross frame. The plastic spatula was very paint friendly.

MichaelW/anyone, what can be done about refinishing a PX-10 and re-applying the stickers?

Get the frame professionally repainted with a stove-enamel.
Stickers can be had, there is a very active community of PX-10 restorers..somewhere.

You may find someone making modern replica stickers for a more reasonable price.
Many thanks for the helpful advice.
