Northern California - NorCal Century Ride Reports!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Man, what a great time! Wonderful folks to ride with and a fun time. Not really any trouble with motorized vehicles either. I came up with 98.47 miles, 6:34:45 total ride time, avg 15mph, 4844 feet. I got a couple extra miles since I rode to the start from home. Then some good pizza and beer after.
Deb, let me know when you're up to it and we'll do a climbing ride. There's some really nice scenery and a bunch of rural roads mixed in with the more urban stuff.
I'll post up pictures tomorrow.

We saw some riparian parkland, commercial district, new suburbia, rangeland, vinyards, stables, rural estates, woodlands, wow. The place with the 70's Camaro in the barn, heh.
For me, a different kind of ride from any other - do we hafta wait until next year t' do it ag'in?
Oh yeah, I had to pee a lot.
Oh yeah II, holler when in Chico, hear?

Normally a ride with this many flats BY ME would be a waste, but with kind, patient friends I still had a great time, though I increased the ride time by at least an hour....
Thanks you guys!
Spiduhman (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?u=106651), that was Joyce (orbeaJ)
Enough for now. Must have ice cream.

So cool to put names with aliases... and faces :p ... Chris and Deb, thanks for letting me draft the train, I mean tandem, for so many miles.
Curtis, I'm glad you still enjoyed yourself with so many flats... maybe you've paid the flat-gods and you're in the clear now for a very long time!!!!!! Btw, again, super nice jersey!
Spiduhman... I like your bike ;) ... and now I'm even more curious about SRAM components that you built up on your bike. Thanks for crazy legs :D ... and I thought you said you weren't good with names?!?
Eric... one word... NAPA! (and two extra words: ALLEZ POWER!)
Joel and Bess, thanks again for leading the ride... sorry I skipped out on the after-party. This was my very first century and here's to more riding this year!
Salud,

We had a great time riding and meeting everyone. We sure knew we worked yesterday and I'm personally glad we made the effort to come up. I really needed to ride in a group again and reconnect with my cycling friends.

Here's a teaser:

Looks like I missed a fun ride. I was having fun directing cars where to park
I really like that Davis Double jersey, especially the color scheme. I'm also glad they fixed the orientation of the text on the side panels (it was upside down on the sample pic).
